HONG KONG, Apr 13 (HealthAnswers) - According to a British study, the indoor air quality of British families is 10 times more polluted than the outdoor air quality.

In fact, the level of carbon monoxide in one out of 10 homes had been found to exceed the permissible level stipulated by the World Health Organisation (WHO). The pollution was attributed to the accumulation of waste gases from the gas stoves, heaters, cigarettes, etc.

To improve indoor air circulation, environmentalists advise opening windows to allow for air circulation, avoiding smoking in indoors and using more environmental friendly products.

Meanwhile, the poor air quality in Hong Kong has raised concern among European businessmen who were attending an international conference held in the country.

A spokesman commented that the management of Disneyland was concerned about the high level of air pollution and hoped that the government would take steps to improve it.
